Caring For Your Lingerie
How do you wash your lingerie? Have you noticed that after a while even the most expensive underwear fades, loses shape or loses a wire?
It’s no good investing in designer lingerie if you are not going to take care of it properly. Good quality underwear should not be thrown into the washing machine along with your normal clothes. The washing machine cycle is often too harsh for lingerie, distorting the padding, lace or under wiring. It is much better to wash your bras by hand in the sink and let them dry naturally - I hang mine to dry in the shower.
It is best to use a product which is specifically designed for hand washing delicates; the detergent is often in a liquid form and comes in an easy to use tube. Fill the sink with warm water and add the detergent. Then add the underwear (making sure not to mix colours and whites) and leave to soak for a good quarter of an hour. Try not to agitate or over rub the underwear as this will distort its quality, but a gentle rub will do no harm.
Do not be tempted to use harsh chemicals such as bleach on your white lingerie. By taking care of your bras in this way, you will notice that they will keep their form and last you much longer than if you were to wash them in the washing machine and you can continue to look sexy for longer.
